What a delight! Sydney continues to be a great blessing in our lives. She has grown so much and is great fun to be around. She talks non-stop and has very grown-up ideas. We are amazed at how smart she appears to be at only 3 years old! It's been a long, long time since I've had a three year old, plus I might be biased so I'll give you an example...
A few weeks ago Sydney was saying that she wouldn't mind being a boy. When I asked her why, she said because her older brothers get to play PlayStation and X-box. I explained to her that it was more of an issue of age and that answer satisfied her & ended the conversation. Fast forward to the other day when I was telling Ryan about it at breakfast. Sydney was sitting with us so I was spelling things to Ryan (I didn't want to make a big deal about it) and told him she brought up that "b-0-y-s" get to play "p-l-a-y-s-t-i-o-n" to which she chimed in "...and X-Box!". Ryan and I just looked at her with our mouths open, she had figured out a conversation that I quickly spelled out. Looking back at us she said "Oh, sorry Mommy, go ahead and go back to spelling to Ryan." She is three.
We recently met up with our adoption group over the 4Th of July holiday so I'll post some pictures. It was wonderful to see all of the families again, the girls have grown so much. They are turning out to be beautiful young ladies! We are very blessed to have such a great adoption group, --we were suppose to go on a Disney cruise with them this past winter but Steve & I pulled out due to finances (it was expensive!) and Steve couldn't get time off from work. So, one of the families suggested a beach get-together to save money and have it in our area. Only one other family is in our state so all the others had to travel. We were able to plan it over a holiday weekend which helped with work as well. It was wonderful!
I better get back to my kids. Summer vacation is drawing to a close (high school sports have already started for the boys) so I need to go enjoy them as much as I can before it's over. Sydney goes back to preschool in two weeks, she is in the 3 day program this year since she LOVES school.

Hi, It's Petrie. I met you at a hotel in Dale City this spring at (at breakfast) and had also adopted through AWAA. Hope you've had a great summer.
The photos of the girls at the beach are just beautiful. Sydney is stunning in that white dress. You have a lovely family.

Great pictures, Lori! Sydney is so adorable. I hope we're able to meet up with our travel group one day, it looks like fun!
